Today is the day, it’s #BellLetsTalk Day. What is Bell Let’s Talk Day? Bell Let’s Talk Day is an initiative created by Bell Canada ( a Canadian telecommunication company) to combat the stigma that surrounds mental illness. 1 in 5 Canadians will experience some type of mental illness in their lifetime and so it’s important that we combat the stigma…. Let’s talk, let’s have this conversation.
In September 2010 Bell Canada began a new conversation, one that many wanted to talk about but were afraid and that was mental illness. Since the campaign started it has donated over $93 million to various mental initiatives!!! For every text message*, mobile and long distance call* (* Bell subscribers), Bell Let’s Talk Day video view on social media, tweet using #BellLetsTalk or retweet, use of the Bell Let’s Talk Facebook frame or Snapchat filter, Bell will donate 5¢ to Canadian mental health initiatives, easy right? So let’s work together and let’s end this stigma.
